This geocache will take you into Springridge estate! Driving past on the road, you'll probably only see house roofs and think that might be all there is, but I discovered a beautiful lookout point hidden within the estate that I'm sure many of you geocachers will enjoy! Of course the hide makes it all the more exciting..
I named the Cache RockyGum lookout because the location is within a closed in rock formation.. a bit like a bowl. The path is a pleasant walk past a large old gumtree and a little stream where you can hear many frogs if you're there at the right time. The pathway leads right to a bench in the centre of the rock bowl where you can sit and enjoy the view!
To the left if the bench and path is a beautiful natural rock stairway, at the top there's a ring of rocks over the natural landscape that makes for an amazing lookout point. You can see the natural rock formation around the area, and that old gumtree, and of course hear the lovely sounds of frogs and running water in the stream.
you'll also find the cache up there! The container holds a logbook, but you'll need to bring your own pen.
The path is also a great place for walking dogs, it's a popular thing to do for the people that live in the estate, try to be discreet if there's any dog-walking muggles around! Otherwise you should be fine to hunt without being seen by anyone.
