I recently got back into geocaching after about eleven years. I love how much it has grown and this time I'm all in! I live close enough to Bear Brook so I can literally walk to the trails from my front door. I take my dog out on these lower trails often which is why I picked this area for my hides. There aren't many caches on them and they are really nice trails!
After dedicating a cache to each of my co-workers, I've decided to follow a greyhound theme. I spent many years working in the industry, both racing and adoption, and it was the best time of my life!
FUN FACT : Did you know greyhounds spend 75% of the time in the air when they are in a full run? It's true! Due to their double suspension gait they are airborne more than they are touching the ground! Also known as the rotary gallop, it is the fastest, but also the most fatiguing, of all gaits.
This one's for Benjamin!
Unlike most greyhounds, Ben had "puppy" fur and was a big fluff ball. My kennel helper made a video of me "dancing" with him to the song "Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls" so this was a perfect spot! Everytime I hear it, I can't help but think of Ben.
This is a running brook so just be aware in the spring the water may be high and fast from snow melt.
Happy hunting!
P.S. There may be a fee to park. $
