I'm a cacher from Los Alamos, NM, and I'll be in Washington for a work trip, but I have Friday off. My plan is to make an Icon Run in the greater Seattle area, including the GCHQ, Project Ape, one of the local webcams, and the temporary Locationless. I've never cached in Seattle before, and Fremont seems like the obvious place to concentrate my efforts. I'm hoping to have ~9-10 cache types completed by the time I visit GCHQ when they open, and spend the afternoon going after a whereigo, the webcam, and the Ape. The goal is to complete the day with 13 cache types (and grab Iron Horse for a Jasmer). But, of course, to do this, I need to attend an event. So... here we are!
I'd love to meet up with local cachers that can stand an absurdly early start to the day, trade trackables, etc. Maybe you can recommend a local place within walking distance where I can grab breakfast? Join me if you like! If you've done an Icon Run before and have advice to dispense, I'm all ears! Come climb the hill and watch the sun rise with me, wish me luck on my big day of geocaching.
If some kind soul who knows the area wants to set up a CITO event for this same day, I'd definitely participate (and rearrange my caching schedule to accomodate it) as this would give me the opportunity for a 14-type Icon Run!
I'm really looking forward to meeting the quirky cachers of Fremont and experience the community myself.
