Allumbah was the original name of the village and in 1910 was renamed Yungaburra. The name was taken from the Yindinji word Jangaburra, which means Silver Ash.
The Allumbah Heritage Walk starts at the Our Lady of Consolation and St Patrick Church on Mulgrave road. The entire track is 4.5km and takes approx 2.5 hrs to complete.
