A sequel to the sunset events of 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022. First time round, the sun didn't show up; the second time we were greeted by the mists of Avalon; and the third was a cloudy but visible sunset. The 2021 and 2022 events had lovely sunsets. Who knows what the sixth Summer Sunset will bring?
We will be summiting Glastonbury Tor on: Saturday 29th July between 7:30 and 9:30pm to watch the sunset at 521 feet above sea level, with a spectacular view over four counties! We are inviting the geocachers of Somerset (and beyond) to join us if you wish.
You don't have to stay the whole time, but the predicted time of sunset on the day is 9:02pm. I may tweak the event times closer to the day if this changes, but I will make an announcement if this happens.
Conditions for the event (set out by the National Trust):
• Please ensure that no fires are lit, including BBQ’s
• No loud music is played so as not to disturb other visitors.
• Parking will be in Glastonbury Town and there is no overnight stays.
• Please ensure that any litter goes home with you.
• Again, please also to ask people to stay on the paths as the Tor is suffering erosion due to many people scaling the Tor and avoiding paths (Stick to the paths when getting to the event!)
