Geocache Description:

Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series

See #1 MLB World Series for a description of the series, including how to solve the puzzles.

This cache - Cleveland Guardians

This team was initially founded as the Grand Rapids Rippers.   They moved to Cleveland in 1900, and took the name "Indians" in 1915.   This name lasted until 2021.  The club name and its cartoon logo had been criticized for perpetuating Native American stereotypes, and in 2021 the name was changed to "Guardians".

Famous Cleveland stars include:

Tris Speaker was considered one of the greatest players in the history of Major League Baseball (MLB), he compiled a career batting average of .345 (sixth all-time).  His 792 career doubles represent an MLB career record.

A more recent Hall of Famer is Jim Thome.  He played for six different teams but primarily Cleveland during the 1990s and early 2000s. A prolific power hitter, Thome hit 612 home runs during his career—the eighth-most all-time—along with 2,328 hits.
