PLAZUELA DE LA ERMITA DEL CRISTO
Este caché pretende enseñar una bonita plaza de Petrer y sus alrededores. Para quien conoce la zona será una excusa para salir a andar un rato y buscar un caché. Para quien no conoce Petrer será una oportunidad de conocer parte del casco histórico de un bonito pueblo mediterráneo.
Hay lugares desde donde los atardeceres tienen un encanto especial, hasta magia diría yo. La plazuela de la ermita del Santísimo Cristo en Petrer es uno de ellos.
Tener un horizonte tan amplio para perder la mirada, ver cómo cambia el paisaje a lo largo del día según por donde ande el sol, pensar que es lo mismo que han estado viendo los vecinos de Petrer al menos desde 1674 cuando se construyó la ermita, hacen de este lugar un sito al que ir para no hacer nada y disfrutar de todo. Dejando a una parte el romanticismo de las puestas de sol en la plazuela, lo que se ve en primer término son los núcleos urbanos de Petrer y de Elda. Conurbación con una población aproximada de 90.000 habitantes separados por una calle según unos o una acequia según los más antiguos del lugar...
APARCAMIENTO
Se puede aparcar en la plazuela de la ermita de San Bonifacio, a donde se llega por la calle de su mismo nombre pero suele haber pocas plazas libres.
Hay otro punto de aparcamiento en las coordenadas N 38° 28.790 W 000° 46.169 junto a un parque. Entrando por la autovía en la salida 205, este puede ser el lugar más próximo a las ermitas. Desde esa zona y callejeando hay apenas 5 minutos, con cuestas y escaleras, para llegar en primer lugar a la ermita de San Bonifacio y a continuación a la ermita del Cristo.
EL CACHE
El caché es de tamaño pequeño, suficiente para contener el libro de firmas. Deberás llevar maquína de escribir.
Aunque no es una zona muy concurrida es conveniente llevar cuidado y disimular.
Por favor dejálo bien disimulado conforme se supone que lo habrás encontrado.
ERMITA DE SAN BONIFACIO
A penas unos metros más abajo esta la ermita de San Bonifacio, se edificó extramuros de la villa de Petrer en 1634. Y ¿porqué dos ermitas tan juntas? De momento no he encontrado la respuesta.
San Bonifacio, en palabras de Mari Carmen Rico, Cronista de la Villa; “es posiblemente el santo más querido de todo el pueblo de Petrer porque en su honor se celebran nuestras tradicionales fiestas de Moros y Cristianos”.
VOLVIENDO A LA ERMITA DEL CRISTO
Volviendo a la ermita del Santísimo Cristo, decir que desde 1674 ha tenido numerosas restauraciones, la mayoría gracias a donativos de particulares.
En la actualidad es la Mayordomía del Cristo del Monte Calvario de Petrer quien se ocupa de su mantenimiento y de organizar la festividad de la advocación que llamamos “El Cristo” pero tiene un nombre mucho más largo: “Santísimo Cristo de la Sangre del Monte Calvario”.
Se hace fiesta en su honor el último viernes de junio. En esa fecha la imagen se traslada a la Parroquia de San Bartolomé Apóstol de Petrer y tras la novena el Cristo vuelve a su ermita.
Contemplar el recorrido de los costaleros por las empinadas calles del casco antiguo de Petrer hasta llegar a la plazuela y ver como al atardecer la imagen entra en la ermita mirando al valle, es un espectáculo.
Como también lo es la cúpula dorada de la ermita.
Si quieres conocer su interior habitualmente abre las puertas para celebrar misa los viernes de octubre a junio o cuando hay bodas o eventos.
A escasos 10 minutos de la ermita, atravesando parte del casco histórico de Petrer se llega al Castillo. A medio camino puedes visitar otro enclave curioso y estratégico utilizado durante la guerra civil, “el Altico”.

PARKING

From that area and walking through the streets, it takes just 5 minutes, with slopes and stairs, to first reach the hermitage of San Bonifacio and then the hermitage of Cristo.

HERMITAGE OF SAN BONIFACE
Just a few meters below is the hermitage of San Bonifacio, it was built outside the walls of the town of Petrer in 1634. And ¿why two hermitages so close together? So far I have not found the answer.
