Geocache Description:

No one lives on this unmaintained road and we thought it definitely needed some houses.  The trees and paths brought fairy tales to mind but we used less gruesome versions.  This tale doesn’t help in your search, but the cache should be easy to find.

Once upon a time, a witch decided to build a house on a quiet road.  The witch didn’t like children at all because they made fun of her. She thought children wouldn’t bother her in this secluded spot.  She was wrong.  Some of the children liked to play in the woods.  The witch decorated her house with gingerbread, cakes and candies to make it appealing to the local children.  When the children came to take a look at the tasty house, the witch would threaten to eat them to scare them away.

One day, Hansel and Gretel were out foraging for berries and got lost in the woods.  They were very tired and hungry when they stumbled upon the witch’s house.  It looked so nice, they thought it would be a good place to rest and get a meal.  They didn’t know the witch had other plans.  When she found them in her house, she told them she was going to eat them.  Gretel started to cry. Hansel stepped in front of his sister, looked the witch in the eye and told her to stop being so mean.  The witch felt guilty for scaring Hansel and Gretel.  The three talked and when the witch learned that Hansel and Gretel were orphans who had been mistreated, she invited them to live with her.  Hansel and Gretel got a permanent home and the witch got two children to love and they all lived happily ever after.
