Geocache Description:

As we walked along this unmaintained road surrounded by trees, we thought it would be the perfect spot to build a home.  The tale of the Three Little Pigs came to mind, but not the version we learned as children.  This revised tale won’t help you find the cache, but we had fun updating the story.

Once upon a time, there were three little pigs and, with a woodlot nearby, it’s no surprise that one of them decided to build his home here.  His two brothers were living with him temporarily.  One brother had built a straw house.  He was rather slipshod so the first big wind that came along blew down the straw house.  The other brother was planning to build a brick house, but he was waiting for the permits to be approved.  The three brothers were quite happy together in the wooden house, reading the building code so they could build a new and stronger straw house, and filling out forms and answering questions about the brick house for the building officials.

One day, the wolf was walking home after having tea with Red Riding Hood and her grandmother.  The wolf was grumpy because he was still hungry.  Red Riding Hood had only brought macaroons for tea and the wolf didn’t like coconut.  His stomach growled again and, at the same time, he saw the three little pigs in the wooden house.  He called out to the pigs, demanding they feed him, or he would blow down their wooden home and eat them.  The three little pigs told the wolf that if he would behave himself, he could share in their dinner.  They were going to eat goat cheese polenta with ratatouille with apple crisp for dessert and it all smelled delicious!  The wolf quickly agreed and the four of them sat down for the meal.  They ate every bite, and even licked their plates.  After dinner, the wolf was full and happy.  He invited the three little pigs to his home for dinner the next evening.  From then on, they took turns hosting each other for dinner and they all lived happily ever after.
