The 39th installment in the Rest 'n Peace - Centre County series takes you near to the Marysville African Methodist Episcopal cemetery in Patton township. The actual cemetery is mostly unmarked now, with but a single extant stone, and is located on private property approximately 600' SSW. I have included pictures of the stone and cemetery grounds below so there is no need to visit the actual location itself.
Again, the actual cemetery is on Private Property. The actual cache you're looking for is placed on state game land grounds so be sure to wear orange when appropriate.
The burials here numbered at least 11, with two women (Anna Maria Delige and Christenia Delige) and one man (Aaron Delige, GAR) being the only known interments. Of note is that Christenia was the mother of Bert Delige, the last person executed by hanging in Centre County, in 1916. He was not allowed to be buried inside the consecrated grounds of the cemetery, so is reported to have been buried about 280' SSE of where this cache is located, adjacent to his family's old homestead. To get to the cache, park either alongside the far side of the road at the pull-off where indicated, or take the nice long leisurely stroll from Graysdale Park.
