Geocache Description:

When I first saw this island from satellite imagery, it seemed to look a little… sus. Could the island be an impostor? 🤨

Anyways, welcome to Watson Lake! Explore this scenic destination and enjoy a paddle on the beautiful blue lake, surrounded by great rock formations and diverse wildlife.

To access this cache, you will need to do a few things first.
1)    This cache is on Arizona State Trust Land. Therefore, you will first need to purchase a recreation permit to access this cache. Click here to purchase a permit from the Arizona State Land Department.
2)    If you are parking a car, you will need to purchase a $3 day parking permit at the entrance of the park. Or you can click here to purchase a multi-day pass from the city of Prescott. See the recommended parking location in this post.
3)    The cache is situated on an island in the lake. You will need to start at a boat ramp and use a boat to paddle out to the island. See the reference point in this post for the recommended ramp.
4)    Once you reach the island, expect some light rock scrambling as you search for the cache.

The container is a waterproof black box with goodies to trade. First to find (FTF) will be rewarded with a crisp $5 bill. Please do not take the pencils or sharpener, as that is for people to sign the log. Remember to leave the cache hidden as you found it.

Happy geocaching!
