This cache is located on the grounds of the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center within North County Park in Cape Girardeau. Take a short walk to find the spot where only those ages 15 and under can try their hand at fishing. The pond is stocked with channel catfish, largemouth bass, and bluegill. While walking along the pond you may also see turtles, frogs, insects, and a variety of aquatic plants.
While you’re here, visit the Nature Center to learn more about Southeast Missouri. There are (free) loaner fishing poles and bait available from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. The center is open Tuesday - Saturday, 8 AM to 5 PM, except state holidays. You may call 573-290-5218 to inquire about hours, trail conditions, and upcoming programs.
