On Saturday, 17-Jun-2023, nearby in this very park, the oh so creative and talented "Mitcham Makers" iTEEM, Mister Doctor, and Washawa along with Geocaching Victoria hosted the Maker Magic: Mitcham Makers (GCA859W) event. This event was held in accordance with Geocaching Headquarters' Maker Magic Promotion in order to help promote more creative hides.
A fun link to the video recap of the event can be found here

In the words of Geocaching HQ, "When a well-designed geocache makes us smile with delight, it can feel like magic. The Maker Magic promotion is all about Event Caches that teach how to hide a great cache so it may feel less like sorcery to do so."
Well at the Maker Magic: Mitcham Makers (GCA859W) event, the Mitcham Makers gave us a peek in their magician's hats and gave us some insight on how all the magic really works.
From hints on where to get inspiration for a great cache, to where to pick up materials (on the cheap), to even some useful tools. There was plenty of magic in the air and plenty of fun to be had.
From signing one of the most creative and fun logbooks I have ever seen, to a paper airplane flight school, delicious food and even a cache building station, it was one of the most fun events I have ever attended.

This very cache was actually painted at this great event, and I thought it would only be fair to dedicate it to the Mitcham Makers that inspired it to be made.

Logging Etiquette:
FTF Prize: This cache has a maker magic geocoin for the geocacher to whom makes the first find as a FTF prize. The FTF coin is a prize for the FTF geocacher, and is not considered to be swag.
SWAG: SWAG or "Stuff we all get," are meant to be trade items in geocaches. If you take a piece of SWAG, please leave something of equal or greater value behind. This geocache is starting off with a few SWAG items that I hope others will enjoy.
Logs: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their geocaches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or emoticon logs may be easier when you have a lot of geocaches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the geocache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.
Retrieval of the Cache
Please take care and use stealth when retrieving and replacing this cache. If there are muggles around please wait until the coast is clear before you make your approach. The longevity of this cache is dependent on finders replacing this cache and ensuring it it covered and can't be seen upon replacment. Please be cautious when approaching GZ in order to reduce your impact on the environment here.
A Simple Thanks to the Mitcham Makers
