This is placed near the gravel parking lot at the southern end of the Hanging Rock Battlefield Trail. Enjoy walking part or all of the trail while you're in the area, it's quite nice. It follows Kessler Mill Road and Mason Creek, passes an old coal loading platform, as well as a low water bridge and a railroad trestle bridge. There are also historical markers commemorating the Civil War battle at Hanging Rock.
You may want to bring tweezers to fish out the log from the small bison tube embedded in the container. Please screw the lid back on tightly so the log doesn't get damp. Pro tip: When replacing the log into the bison tube, first roll it tightly and stick it into the cap, then slide the other end of the log into the main tube and screw on the cap. This keeps the log from unrolling too much to get the cap on properly.
Enjoy!
