Welcome to the third on the Ollie Trek. Here both you agility and mathermatic skills will be put to the test!
Welcome to the second on the Ollie Trek. We recently lost our Border Collie "Ollie the Collie" and this was one of his frequent walking routes.
We have placed 12 hides in total between St Columb Major and the Vale of Lanhern Set which leads to St Mawgan. the first 6 in the series are available to everyone and located along a quite narrow lane with very few cars going up and down. The first 6 are accessible with pushchairs and on bikes, a car can even get down there but not advised.
7 onwards are only available to premium members these are up a muddy track leading through the trees. Bikes are not allowed on the estate past cache 6 and it is impassible to vehicles. All terrain pushchairs will get through but standard pushchairs would get stuck in the mud.
The walk covers stunning views over 2.5km to cache 6 or 5km to cache 9 crossing two steams and a ford. The walk does involve walking up and down hills which means it should take the average person based on walking from the Bowling Club car park 1.5hrs with time to search and find caches. It is advised to add 2 hours onto parking for the short walk (1-6) or 3Hrs for the longer one (all 9). A bench is located near cache 2 for a rest stop.
Room for trackable is available at Cache 7 & 10.
Toilets are located at the car park and are free to use but closed overnight and during winter.
GPS Accuracy in the area is accurate to 4m
Tweezers and a water bottle are needed. Reccommend wellies if going past cache 6 in winter or on wet days.
