DARTMOOR TREASURE
Dartmoor Treasure is a set of 40 caches placed across Dartmoor. It was specifically designed for those who love walking on Dartmoor and are happy to visit remote locations across what maybe difficult terrain. There are 24 traditional caches and 8 multi-caches which contain information to lead you to a further 8 bonus caches.
Every traditional and multi-cache contains bonus information.
This is not a normal series of caches which can be completed in one day. It will probably take several weeks or months to complete and will require multiple walks across Dartmoor. Both the Difficulty and Terrain of these caches vary enormously, so please check the D/T rating and allow sufficient time to reach and find the cache.
Please note the D/T rating of this cache. The walk to the cache is about 4km.
A cache overlooking the East Okement River.
Please Note: The route to this cache is adjacent to, but not in, a Military Training Area on which live firing and other pyrotechnics may be used. The area is generally open public access. One of the safety rules for public access is:- Do not, (and ensure that children do not) approach, touch or pick up any metal objects lying on the ground. Please obey all bylaws and locally posted information concerning times when the area may be closed. These may be physical barriers, marker posts, flags, lights or manned control posts.
The weather on Dartmoor can change suddenly and unexpectedly and ALL types of weather conditions can be experienced. Please ensure that you have the correct clothing and map & compass (and know how to use them). Please do NOT rely solely on your GPS.
I would like to thank the Dartmoor National Parks Authority for their kind permission to place this cache which complies with their geocaching guidelines.
