The Ian Fleming's James Bond series of geocaches honors the amazing original books (not the movies). It is placed along a section of General Crook trail originating from the Rim Trailhead. It is a regular sized geocache. Designed for biking, this powertrail is spaced .25-.5 miles between geocaches (because 0.1 mile spacing on a bike is very tedious).
Thunderball is the ninth James Bond novel. It is remarkable for introducing SPECTRE (Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion), who represents no country but instead is a multinational terrorist organization who's objective is commercial and political gain. Thunderball deals with extortion based on captured nuclear missles. More importantly, it introduces the villian Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Fleming created Spectre when he feared that the end of Cold War would make his villians no longer relevant.
To find Thunderball, park at the posted coordinates and follow the General Crook Trail (as opposed to the road along the power line).
