When the Cornbrook tram stop was added in 1999 to provide an interchange with the new Eccles line, it was the only Metrolink stop that didn't have any access to or from the street. There was no entrance until 2005 when the emergency exit was converted. Originally, there were three platforms to allow for terminating trams, but the third platform is no longer used to accomodate the MediaCityUK service.

From the platform, you can catch a glimpse of Pomona Island, a currently empty space of land, and you might notice the hole in the fence as you walk towards this geocache. Although not an official route, it also provides access to the Bridgewater Canal Tow Path. The stop is named after the Corn Brook, an 'underground river' that runs through manchester. The tram stop was not the first station to open nearby, as there used to exist a Cornbrook Railway Station, although it was later closed. National Rail services still run parallel to the tram lines on the eastern side.

The cache is not a typical micro, and its size is, well, debatable. It is clearly labelled, and you'll definitely know when you've spotted it!
You must sign the logbook to log a find online, and you will need to bring your own pen. I will remove any logs which do not correspond to a signature in the physical logbook.
Please message me if you're stuck or think something's gone wrong with the cache, I'm happy to help :)
About SideTracked Caches
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website
Proogs has a list of caches hidden near Metrolink stations, if you'd like to find more :)
