Im Aisidl, einem Wald bei Drosendorf im Norden Niederösterreichs, ist das Pelzweibl zu Hause. Es ist klein und hat seinen Namen von seinem Überkleid, das es im Sommer und im Winter anhat. Das Volk erzählt, das Pelzweibl sei ein böser Geist, der die Leute in das Verderben locke.
Einmal ging ein Mann aus Drosendorf in der Nacht aus einem Nachbarorte nach Hause. Als er noch etwa eine Viertelstunde Weges von Drosendorf entfernt war, kam das Pelzweibl zu ihm und lockte ihn fortwährend, indem es sagte: "Geh mit, geh mit!" Der Mann erwiderte kein Wort und ging weiter, bis er zu einer Kapelle kam, die am Wege stand. Hier drehte er sich plötzlich um und gab dem Pelzweibl mit einem Knüppel mehrere tüchtige Hiebe auf den Kopf und sprang dann schnell durch die offene Tür hinein. In die Kapelle traute sich aber das Pelzweibl doch nicht hinein, und darum blieb es draußen und sagte nur: "Es ist dein Glück, daß du in die Kapelle hinein bist, sonst hättest du mir gehört!" und darauf verschwand es.
Es ist nicht überliefert in welcher Kapelle sich der mann rettete, nur soviel, daß sie in der Nähe Drosendorfs gewesen sein soll, etwa das Pestmarterl oder auch das Edermarterl.

#8 Mödring Runde - The Fur Witch
The Pelzweibl is at home in Aisidl, a forest near Drosendorf in the north of Lower Austria. It is small and gets its name from the overcoat it wears in summer and winter. The people say that the fur witch is an evil spirit who lures people to their ruin.
Once a man from Drosendorf was walking home from a neighboring town at night. When he was still about a quarter of an hour away from Drosendorf, the furry witch came to him and kept enticing him, saying: "Go with me, go with me!" The man didn't say a word and continued walking until he came to a chapel on the way. Here he suddenly turned around and gave the furry witch several strong blows on the head with a stick and then quickly jumped in through the open door. But the furry witch didn't dare go into the chapel, so she stayed outside and just said: "It's your luck that you're in the chapel, otherwise you would have been mine!" and then she disappeared.
It is not known which chapel the man saved himself in, only that it was said to have been near Drosendorf, such as the Pestmarterl or the Edermarterl.
