Hosting a Evening CITO event. I hosted one of these last year and have decided to host another one during the end of the summer days. There are two different areas for parking both are marked as waypoints, one offers free parking while the other is paid parking. We will meet up at the CITO coordinates near the Pink Pony. From there depending on how many we are able get to show up we will break up into groups picking up the trash along and near the beach.
This activity has been approved by the City of Gulf Shores. I will have trash bags and pick up sticks on hand. However if you would rather bring your own gloves etc, please feel free to do so. All trash found will be disposed off by the City as they have given permission to the use of the trash cans that are already located on the beach for trash removal purposes.
Those that make a will attend log at least 3 days prior to the CITO will recieve a custom CITO Pinback button with your geocaching username on it! Those who don't will still receive a generic CITO pinback button as well.
If bringing flashlights, please make sure to bring red or black lights as bright white lights can be harmful to possibly sea turtles making landfall to lay their eggs. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.
