Geocache Description:

Not really a new cache but a new location. Now that "RussellSchool" has retired and "Fullofun" is in charge instead, he is a trustee on Te Araroa Northland.

Te Araroa (The Long Pathway) is New Zealand's long distance tramping route, stretching circa 3,000 kilometres (1,900 mi) along the length of the country's two main islands from Cape Reinga to Bluff. Officially opened in 2011, it is made up of a mixture of previously made tracks and walkways, new tracks, and link sections alongside roads.[1] Tramping the full length of the trail generally takes three to six months.

The funny thing about this cache is that Skaga had the cache where the track used to go across the farmland. In 2023 the track entrance was relocated about 1 km closer to the Puketi Forest Camp. When "Fullofun" was helping to put up the new sign entrance, he thought "I must hide a cache here!" The obvious place would be under the stile. But there is aleady one there!!! Not sure who relocated the stile from its previous location but they also relocated the cache!! Only trouble is, the cache has not been updated, as Skaga was not aware of the situation.

So with Skaga's approval I am hiding this "new" cache! Only the log is new, it is still her container.

This track is so new it does not open until mid-September 2023!

PLEASE NOTE THOUGH - you can find the cache now, as it before the track begins!
