The Longford Loop was inspired by our walks in the area and a love of walking in the countryside with its wildlife, birds and flowers, taking in the villages of Odstock and Nunton. There is much to see on this loop from rich farmland and the pastures of a local dairy farm at Nunton, to a wooded section with a stream alongside, then tracks leading to a busy main road, which thankfully is soon covered, before walking between the hedges of a quiet lane. Soon you find the first of two very pleasant 'watering holes' enroute where drinks and meals or snacks can be purchased, ideal to break the circuit for a coffee, lunch or simply a drink. If doing in numerical order, the walk continues up a quiet lane and back onto farmland before coming out onto a lane, and the 2nd 'watering hole', followed by a short distance down to a small crossroads, and staight over to where you started the walk.
Keep dogs on leads and children close by, there may be livestock in the filed. The cache is secured to prevent it getting lost. As you reach the lane a refreshments and toilets can be found.
