Vulpea şi barza

Jupân vulpoi s-a fudulit odată,
Poftind la masă pe cumătra barză.
N-a fost o cină prea îmbelşugată,
Că dumnealui făcea economie;
O zeamă lungă, cu puţină varză,
Iar ca s-o păcălească, i-a pus-o-n farfurie.
Zadarnic biata barză îşi încerca norocul,
Că n-ajungea să soarbă un singur strop, cu ciocul;
Pe când vulpoiul, ciorba, a supt-o la iuţeală.
Voind să răsplătească această păcăleală,
La rându-i doamna barză, aşa, cam dup-o lună,
Şi-a invitat vecinul la o gustare bună.
Pe scumpa lui amică, nu poate s-o refuze!
A spus, galant, vulpoiul, lingându-se pe buze.
Apoi, cu pasul legănat,
Spre casa berzei s-a-ndreptat,
Lăudându-i marea bunătate
Şi-aromitoarele bucate.
Venea mireasmă dulce de carne la frigare,
Tăiată-n bucăţele mărunte, o minune!
(Vulpoii nu duc lipsă de poftă de mâncare.)
Dar barza, dinadins,
Tocana-ntr-o garafă cu gâtul lung i-o pune.
Bucăţele de carne ea le scotea în cioc,
Vulpoiul însă, tufă! nu izbutea deloc.
Nici o firimitură cu botul lui n-a prins.
Şi s-a întors acasă flămând, bătu-l-ar vina,
Pleoştit şi nemâncat,
Cu coada-ntre picioare şi foarte ruşinat,
Ca un vulpoi pe care l-a păcălit găina.
Înşelătorii prea uşor
Sunt înşelaţi, la rândul lor.
The Fox and The Stork
Once upon a time, there lived in a jungle a cunning fox and a good natured stork. They both were neighbours.
One day, the fox thought of a naughty plan to entertain himself at the expense of the stork. He invited the stork to his house for dinner. The stork gladly accepted the invitation.
Next day, the stork arrived at the fox’s place for dinner with a good appetite. To her disappointment, the fox served soup on two flat plates.The Fox and The Stork The stork's beak was too long and pointy to eat the soup from the flat dish. All she could do was to wet the very tip of her beak, while the fox deliciously lapped up all of the soup in his plate. Poor stork did not say anything and went home hungry that night.
One week later, the stork invited the fox for lunch at her place and he accepted the invitation. When the fox arrived, the stork served the lunch in two long thin necked jars. The Fox and The StorkThis time the stork put her beak in the long thin necked jar and ate the delicious fish she prepared, but the fox could only lick at the rim of the jar and sniff at the delicious aroma. His wide snout couldn’t fit inside the thin necked jar. The fox had to go home hungry and humiliated this time.
La Fontaine: A róka és a gólya
Egy nap a róka vendégségbe hívta a gólyát.
A róka ízletes vacsorát főzött.
Amikor a gólya megérkezett, meglepetten nézte a terített asztalt.
A lapostányéron leveses pép gőzölgött, mely ínycsiklandozó illata az egész szobát betöltötte, ám a gólya hosszú, vékony csőrével sehogyan sem fért hozzá az ételhez.
Így aztán korgó gyomorral kellett távoznia.
- Köszönöm meghívásodat, hadd viszonozzam - mondta a távozóban lévő gólya a vendéglátójának.
- Holnap este jöjj el hozzám, vendégségbe.
A róka örömmel elfogadta a meghívást. A gólya egész nap sürgölődött a konyhában, s vacsorája illata talán még a rókáén is túltett. A róka már alig várta az ízletes ételt, ám a terített asztal láttán most rajta volt a sor, hogy megdöbbenjen. A gólya ugyanis az
ételt hosszú nyakú edényben tette a róka elé, s jó étvágyat kívánt.
Így aztán a róka maradt éhen.
- Róka koma, hát nem ízlik a főztöm ? - incselkedett a gólya. - Ne vedd a szívedre, hiszen tőled tanultam. A minap megcsúfoltál engem, most rajtad a sor. Amit velem tettél, csak azt kapod vissza.
