Batteria Amm. ALBINI🇮🇹
Situata nella cala orientale dell'Isola Palmaria di cui prese il nome originale (batteria Schenello) non molto distante dalla Torre corazzata Umberto I .
La batteria risulta esistente dal 1889 e doveva integrare gli armamenti della vicina Torre Umberto I, è confrontabile con la batteria Maralunga che è posta sul lato opposto del Golfo nel Comune di Lerici.
La spianata in muratura dov'erano sistemati gli armamenti in origine si trovava circa a tre metri sotto il piano di campagna.
Sul fronte si aprivano le sedi semicircolari degli impianti a scomparsa.
Nel retro, a quote più basse, i depositi e i servizi logistici.
La batteria assunse il nome Ammiraglio Albini negli anni '20 quando venne adeguata alle nuove esigenze belliche tramite alcune modifiche tra cui il riempimento dei pozzi per gli impianti a scomparsa.
La batteria mantenne importanza fino agli ultimi giorni del conflitto mondiale ( ipotesi confermata dalla costruzione di un osservatorio in casa matta basato su un modello tedesco "Regelbau" tuttora esistente e con iscrizione in tedesco ben visibili)
Attualmente sono visibili i ruderi di quest'ultima configurazione.

the anti-aircraft fort has existed since 1889 and was intended to integrate the armaments of the nearby Torre Umberto I, it is comparable with the Maralunga battery which is located on the opposite side of the Gulf in the Municipality of Lerici.
The masonry esplanade where the armaments were placed was originally about three meters below ground level.
The semicircular seats of the retractable systems opened up on the front.
In the back, at lower altitudes, the warehouses and logistics services.
The battery took on the name Ammiraglio Albini in the 1920s when it was adapted to the new war requirements through some modifications including the filling of the wells for the retractable systems.
The battery remained important until the last days of the world war (hypothesis confirmed by the construction of an observatory in casa matta based on a German "Regelbau" model that still exists and with a clearly visible German inscription)
The ruins of the latter configuration are currently visible.
