Across the Town Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Pharisee: After being advised that the first part had disappeared I checked on the rest. In total, three of the four boxes, including the final cache, have been taken. It's a shame as this was the first cache I set and it was kinda special for me. It's also annoying that the cache camera has also been lost as it was just about used up and due for processing. As it wasn't a particularly 'popular' cache, I'll not bother to replace the missing parts and just archive it instead.... Bummer [:(][:(][:(]

Geocache Description:

A single cache in four parts taking you across Luton from east to west with a chunk of north thrown in for good measure. It's a relatively easy drive, a reasonable bike ride or a very long walk.

The first oak tree There are four hidden boxes. The co-ordinates quoted above are the location of the first of them. It’s located in a quiet, rural setting just to the east of Luton and there’s a convenient hostelry a short walk away. The box contains instructions to enable you to find the co-ordinates for the second part. This is hidden in a very suburban spot that is high on most peoples list of "Places I really don't want to go". That will lead to the third box in a surprisingly peaceful wooded area.
NOTE: This area is liable to flooding in 'the wet season' so PLEASE make sure that the Zip-Loc bag is fully 'zipped' and the top of the box is securely closed. Thanks.
Finally from there, you will travel across the town, to the cache with the logbook and goodies. The final cache is located on a hill to the west of Luton.

I don’t think there are any views of Luton that can be described as ‘spectacular’ but the view from the final cache, looking north east towards the distant hills, is probably as good as it gets.

Something to remember; the easiest way to a cache is not necessarily the shortest, most direct way.

Some paths used in this cache hunt are not suitable for pushchairs and it can get very muddy at times.

There are at least three or four ways to approach the final cache but if you don’t have an Ordnance Survey map to hand, park somewhere close to N51° 52.979 W000° 27.336 and take ‘the tube’.

One final thing, as most of these boxes are planted close to well used paths, please make sure they are well covered and hidden from view before you leave. Thanks and enjoy the hunt.

Please DO NOT leave items of food or drink in this cache.
