Geocache Description:

OPEN DOOR TO NATURE

This cache aims to make known a true "Open Door to Nature", with a breathtaking panoramic view over the river Minho, the islands of Boega and Amores. It is located on the hill of Crasto, next to the chapel of Our Lady of Incarnation, and giving access to an excellent picnic park.

The chapel dates from 1758, having been destroyed in 1944 by a fire. The reconstruction was carried out gradually, according to the donations of the faithful, being inaugurated in 1967. Tradition has it that in the place where today stands a granite cross, south of the chapel, appeared Our Lady of the Incarnation, represented in the form of a small image, seated inside an oratory of leaf and glass with wings. He also adds that in a cave of penedia, near the chapel, lived a hermit who was guardian of the Lady.

About the cache: the container was (proudly) decorated by the youngest member of this team. Please handle it carefully, be discreet and put it back on as you found it. This cache includes a "bag" of its own, wrapping around the logbook container, which allows you to place trackables. Have fun, and (by the way) enjoy having a snack in space!
