Geocache Description:


Samuel Dewey was born in 1763, and died Febrary 2, 1854.  He was born Berkshire, MA.  Samuel Dewey is the only person to be buried in Allen Twp who served in the Revolutionary War and is also the earliest born of anyone buried in this cemetery. He served as drummer boy in the war.  He was also the last person in Hillsdale County that served during the Revolutionary War to die. A memorial flag holder was placed by the D.A.R.:Ann Gridley Chapter, Hillsdale in 1929. This grave is located in the center section, row 6, near the south drive.
