Geocache Description:

04 November 2023, 09:00 - 12:00

This event will be held at the listed coordinates at the CREW Dome Trails, from  9am-noon. This is a meet and greet breakfast and a great opportunity to visit with local cachers, learn about geocaching and discover the CREW Preserve. 30+ new caches will be unveiled across the miles of trails in the preserve. Cachers are welcome to stay after the event. The trails close at dusk.  The new caches will be published on Friday evening so that the caches can be downloaded before the event. The preserve will open at 9 am. Anyone caching before the event will cursed by the Banana Butler.

Local cachers will be available to explain and guide anyone new to geocaching. Come on out and enjoy this beautiful preserve.

About CREW:

The CREW Land and Water Trust is a private, non-profit conservation organization dedicated to the preservation and stewardship of the water resources and natural communities in and around the Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed (CREW). This 60,000-acre watershed in partnership with the South Florida Water Management District (which owns and manages the land) and the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (which monitors wildlife, hunting, and provides law enforcement on CREW). CREW is the largest intact watershed in southwest Florida, straddling Lee and Collier Counties. CREW’s majestic 5,000-acre sawgrass marsh is the headwaters for the entire watershed.

Thanks to CREW's Executive Director, Bob Lucious, Education Coordinator Julie and the staff at CREW as well as South Florida Water Management District for allowing us to use the CREW trails for geocaching.
