I swear I’ll never complain about boredom again. Again today something came up. We approached a group of four islands, three of which were known pirate spots. There are taverns, brothels, and anything else a pirate could ask for. As we were coming to port, three men came out to meet us on the dock. They were pirates as well but I knew none of them. The captain grabbed six of us to meet them on the gangway.
“What are ya doing here Bolling?” the leader asked.
“Came to restock and make repairs, Collins” the captain replied.
“Well you’re not welcome here,” said another.
“I disagree captains,” the captain responded. And with those words we were released like the hounds of Hell with zero hesitation. Swords came together as we pushed forward. More men came from the four other ships, so naturally more poured off our ship. It was an all out brawl on all eight docks. Men were in the water. Some were lying on the deck after being knocked out. Eight men were on other ships fighting. Suddenly a pistol shot rang out, echoing across the bay.
“Enough!” a tall red haired woman yelled. “That is quite enough boys.”
I looked at Smitty, “I think I’ve just fallen three ways in love.”
“Yeah and she’ll kill you two different ways before you say hello.”
“Boys, Captain Bolling is obviously here to pay his debt.”
“I do have that as well.” The captain said. “965 gold pieces as promised.” Three of the captains that met us on the docks sulked away. The last just shook his head. “Whatever you say Veronica.”
