Maroboduus was King of Bohemia after he convinced his people to migrate to what is now southern Germany. His Germanic tribe generally got along with Rome, even supplying soldiers to fight in the Roman army. His negotiation skills kept his tribe neutral in most of the wars fought in his area. Eventually, he was pushed out of power by a younger man and he fled to safety in Italy, where he died in obscurity. This makes sense, because he started out his life in Rome as a hostage of

His teaching also greatly influenced the modern Unitarian church, creating a lasting influence around the world.
