Just off the A719 between Moscow and Waterside, a road heads up towards Whitelee. This historic spot is on a farm track that passes through a farm and sometimes locked gate. Please don't attempt to cache 'n' dash. We have given a parking waypoint and it's a less than two mile round walk from there. Be warned, we decided to make this one more interesting by including a stream crossing. No probs in dry weather when there are ample stepping stones. Otherwise, you may need to cross the fallen tree bridge or wade. The cache should be an easy find but there is lots of tree cover which may mess with your technology. If it proves tricky we will expand on the hint. Please bring a pen to sign the log. If you forget, a DM'd photolog will suffice.
The history on this one is unclear. Possibly a place where covenanters hid. Also believed to have been used by soldiers as a shelter/hiding place. It is believed to be man made....or man extended and will hold a number of people. Given its potential historic importance we haven't hidden the cache inside. Instead, near by.
You can see the cave from GZ (see below), but best to have a look from close hand too.
