Estrutura abandonada
Perto da Fonte da Areia, mais precisamente no sítio da Lapa, existe uma estrutura abandonada de alguma complexidade e incomum. Está escondida e só os mais curiosos já deram por esta estrutura, certamente muito antiga.
A primeira pergunta que vem à cabeça é, “o que é isto e para que serve”. Bem, atualmente não tem utilidade. Porém, em tempos deveria ser muito importante, ao ponto de criarem uma solução para a constante queda de pedras, ou seja. o que ali houvera, tinha de ser bem protegido.
No início da estrutura, está cravada a palavra “Marinha”. Numa primeira observação, podemos concluir que poderia ser uma estrutura da marinha, para ter um acesso ao mar perto da base da NATO. Porém, esta estrutura não vai até ao mar, e o acesso a este por aqui é quase impossível e muito perigoso.
Após uma profunda pesquisa bibliográfica, Nuno Melo refere a existência de uma câmara de extração de água perto da Fonte da Areia, e uma outra que media apenas a qualidade das águas. Atendendo à “furna” localizada no fim da estrutura abandonada, podemos concluir que esta estrutura foi feita para a obtenção ou o controle da qualidade da água. Sendo um bem natural tão raro nesta ilha, daí a tal proteção à extração de água.
Near Fonte da Areia, more precisely on the Lapa site, there is an abandoned structure of some complexity and unusual. It is hidden and only the most curious have ever noticed this structure, which is certainly very old.
The first question that comes to mind is, “what is this and what is it for”. Well, it currently has no use. However, once upon a time it would have been very important, to the point of creating a solution for the constant falling of rocks, in other words. whatever was there had to be well protected.
At the beginning of the structure, the word “Navy” is engraved. At first observation, we can conclude that it could be a navy structure, to have access to the sea close to the NATO base. However, this structure does not go to the sea, and access to it from here is almost impossible and very dangerous.
After in-depth bibliographical research, Nuno Melo refers to the existence of a water extraction chamber near Fonte da Areia, and another that only measured the quality of the water. Considering the “furna” located at the end of the abandoned structure, we can conclude that this structure was made to obtain or control water quality. Being such a rare natural asset on this island, hence the protection for water extraction.

Esta multi-cache surge com o prepósito de dar a conhecer esta estrutura abandonada através de uma simples multi-cache. É constituída por duas etapas, sendo a primeira etapa física e a segunda etapa virtual. Concluídas as duas etapas, terá informação suficiente para deslocar-se às coordenadas finais.

Para resolver esta multi-cache, terá de deslocar-se à primeira etapa (física). Aqui, terá de encontrar uma pedra, escondida numa pequena gruta. A pedra/calhau, dar-lhe-á a informação para deslocar-se até à segunda etapa (virtual) e também como resolver a segunda etapa. Resolvida a primeira e a segunda etapa, facilmente descobrirá as coordenadas finais.
Na etapa 1 (física), não retire nada do recipiente. Tire uma foto às coordenadas da segunda etapa e à lista de como resolvê-las.
To resolve this multi-cache, you will have to go to the first (physical) step. Here, you will have to find a stone, hidden in a small cave. The stone/pebble will give you the information to move to the second stage (virtual) and also how to solve the second stage. Once the first and second steps are solved, you will easily discover the final coordinates.
In step 1 (physical), do not remove anything from the container. Take a photo of the second step coordinates and the list of how to solve them.
