Geocache Description:

The "Dough Dean Reserve" was named after a former Balllarat Shire Planning Engineer.

In 2014 the Delecombe Community partook in a consulation to determine how to best utilise the space at "Doug Dean Reserve", the creation of an outdoor Community Park Gym was highlighted as a priority that would help to improve Community health. Providing free and accessable facilities to enable greater excersise opportunities that are key for the Delecombe Community to enable older and younger people to remain active, to provide activities for young families and to continue to tackle the increasing rate of obesity in the broader community. This Park Gym helps to make "Doug Dean Reserve" a Community asset that encourages and facilitates active living.

Pull up to this play groung and there is an expance of green grass and young trees. In the distance there is a lake with some bird houses that get a great deal of use. There is a large circle made of rocks and another smaller circle of larger rocks, in the middle of  these two sculptures of rocks is the  most amazing playgroung for children to run freely.

It also has a walking track apox. 1.5km long around which the equipment is located. The outdoor equipment is durable and supported underneath with safety matting. Football, Netball and Cricket are just some of the Reserve's many uses.
