#Bónus Vamos ao Topo da Graça
"Vamos ao topo da Graça", surgiu com o intuito de proporcionar aos geocachers um passeio por um trilho pouco conhecido na Ilha do Porto Santo, ao longo de uma zona da qual consideramos bastante interessante, tanto no sentido paisagístico, devido a obtermos constante uma vista panorâmica sobre grande parte da ilha, tanto pelo meio envolvente.
Não existe propriamente a necessidade de realizar as caches por ordem, isto é, da #1 para a #4. Contudo, aconselhamos a fazê-lo, por diversas razões. Informamos também, que a cache bónus, está mais próxima da #5. De qualquer forma, está a aproximadamente, 500 metros. É também possível ir até ao #bónus de carro, por isso, se não pretender atravessar toda a crista, poderá ir posteriormente registar a #bónus.
Pedimos atenção especial às pedras que encontrará no fundo de cada recipiente. Cada recipiente, contém uma pedra colorida. Anote ou memorize a cor de cada pedra nas caches, para posteriormente poder descobrir as coordenadas finais da cache "#bónus Vamos ao Topo da Graça"
As caches são todas do mesmo estilo, ou seja, rolo fotográfico. Apesar de serem caches simples, o passeio por si só, já vale apena. O trilho, inicia-se junto ao miradouro do Pico Castelo, junto ao "canhão". A partir daí, basta seguir o trilho. Inicialmente, poderá ser confuso, pois é intercetado por alguns caminhos e o caminho nem sempre é o mais percetível. Contudo, visualize outra camada no mapa, mais específica para trilhos, e facilmente seguirá e dará com o trilho.
A parte inicial do trilho, é a única parte que necessitará de mais cautela, dado o caminho ser estreito e numa vertente inclinada. Também predominarão nesta parte, as Tabaibeiras. Por vezes, são tão densas que precisará de passar o caminho vagarosamente. Em certas partes, atingem os 2 metros de altura. É também possível ver imensos tabaibos, que aproveitamos para informar que são bastante bons. Contudo, não os apanhe sem material apropriado.
Quanto às caches em si, à exceção da #1, estão todas na crista da Graça, maioritariamente na vertente exposta para sudoeste. A dica "tapada por pedras" é comum a todas, dado o local. Foram colocadas fotos spoiler para facilitar. A bónus como já foi referido, está mais próxima da #5 e necessitará de saber a cor das pedras nos recipientes para poder resolver o mistério. É também acessível por veículo, sendo a única.
Por fim, pedimos como sempre, respeito pelo meio. Deixe as caches sempre como encontrou ou melhor. Necessitará de levar consigo material de escrita. Partilhe as suas fotos ao longo da crista. Tenha cuidado e não crie situações desnecessárias de perigo. É um caminho de forma geral seguro. Contudo, fugir do trilho e colocar-se junto dos precipícios, poderá ser perigoso. Aconselhamos de igual modo, se possível, realizar o percurso em situações de tempo estável. Use calçado adequado e relembramos que no topo da crista o vento pode ser por vezes intenso.
"Let's go to the top of Graça", was created with the aim of providing geocachers with a walk along a little-known trail on Porto Santo Island, along an area that we consider quite interesting, both in the scenic sense, due to the fact that we get a constant panoramic views over a large part of the island, both through its surroundings.
There is no real need to carry out the caches in order, that is, from #1 to #4. However, we advise you to do so, for several reasons. We also inform you that the bonus cache is closer to #5. Anyway, it's approximately 500 meters away. It is also possible to go to the #bonus by car, so if you don't want to cross the entire ridge, you can go and register the #bonus later.
We ask for special attention to the stones you will find at the bottom of each container. Each container contains a colored stone. Write down or memorize the color of each stone in the caches, so you can later discover the final coordinates of the cache "#bonus Vamos ao Topo da Graça"
The caches are all the same style, that is, photographic roll. Despite being simple caches, the tour alone is worth it. The trail starts near the Pico Castelo viewpoint, next to the "cannon". From there, just follow the trail. Initially, it may be confusing, as it is intercepted by some paths and the path is not always the most noticeable. However, view another layer on the map, more specific to trails, and you will easily follow and find the trail.
The initial part of the trail is the only part that will require more caution, as the path is narrow and on a steep slope. The Tabaibeiras will also predominate in this part. Sometimes they are so dense that you will need to walk slowly along the path. In certain parts, they reach 2 meters in height. It is also possible to see lots of tabaibos, which we would like to inform you that they are quite good. However, do not pick them up without appropriate material.
As for the caches themselves, with the exception of #1, they are all on the Graça crest, mostly on the slope exposed to the southwest. The tip "covered by stones" is common to all, given the location. Spoiler photos were added to make things easier. The bonus, as already mentioned, is closer to #5 and you will need to know the color of the stones in the containers to be able to solve the mystery. It is also accessible by vehicle, being the only one.
Finally, as always, we ask for respect for the environment. Always leave caches as you found them or better. You will need to take writing material with you. Share your photos along the ridge. Be careful and do not create unnecessary dangerous situations. It is a generally safe path. However, straying from the trail and staying close to the cliffs could be dangerous. We also advise, if possible, to undertake the route in stable weather conditions. Wear suitable footwear and remember that at the top of the ridge the wind can sometimes be intense.
