Der Haidersee hieß früher Karthausersee, weil er dem gleichnamigen Kloster im Schnalstal gehörte, und liegt auf einer Höhe von 1450 Meter. Er hat eine Fläche von 0,89 km2, ist maximal 15 Meter tief und fasst ein Wasservolumen von 6 mio m3. Der See ist vermutlich durch einen der größten Erdrutsche im Alpenraum am Ende der letzten Eiszeit, ausgelöst auf den Planeiler Berge, talauswärts links, entstanden. Um den See führt ein sehr schöner Rundgang, wobei ein Steg ca 1km taleinwärts den See überquert und durch ein Schilfbiotop führt!

Il lago dell Muta anticamente si chiamava Lago della Certosa perché apparteneva all'omonimo monastero in val Senales e si trova a 1450 metri di altitudine. Ha una superficie di 0,89 kmq, è profondo al massimo 15 metri e contiene un volume d acqua di 6 millioni mq. Il lago è stato creato probabilmente da una delle più grandi frani alpine nell' ultima era glaciale, verificatosi dai monti di Planol . C'è un bellissimo giro intorno al lago, con una paserella in legno che attraversa il lago in circa 1 km e conduce attraverso un biotopo di canneti.

The Haidersee was formerly called Karthausersee because it belonged to monastery of the same name in the Schnals Valley and lies at a height of 1450 m. It has an area of 0.89 km2, is a maximum of 15 meters deep and hold a water volume of 6 million m3. The lake was probably created by one of the largest landslide in the Alps at the end of the last ice age, started on the Planeiler Mountains out of valley on the left. There is a very beautiful tour around the lake, with a wooden footbridge crossing the lake abour 1km along the lake and leading troughta reed biotope
