Geocache Description:

Baie des Deux Peuples Heritage Trail

The name "Two Peoples Bay" is from an incident in 1803 when an American whaling ship used the sheltered waters to lay anchor at the same time as a French vessel that was exploring the coastline east of Albany.

The beautiful 2.5km Heritage Trail starts at the car park near the Visitors Centre near Two Peoples Bay and heads through the bushland to Little Beach. The area contains peppermint woodland and if lucky you may see the Noisy Scrub Bird and Gilbert's Potoroo amongst a wide variety of other wildlife that live in the area. The Reserve is known for its crystal clear waters and beautiful rock formations that hug the bushland and beaches. There are public restrooms and picnic tables at the visitor centre end,and a long drop toilet at the Little Beach end.

PLEASE NOTE: Standard park entry fees apply for Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve ($15 car/$8 concession or motorbike) however it is well worth spending a day in the reserve - in addition to walking the trail, excellent fishing, swimming and 4WD-ing are all on offer!
