The cache is located near the Grand Menard picnic area and the clues are found on the nearby Discovery Trail. There were a few guides to the trail at the Nine Mile RS visitor center. In the summer months, they are available at the trailhead. The guide is not necessary to find the cache, but it does point out some interesting things. The area is accessible all year, although you may not be able to drive right to the trailhead in the winter months.
You will find posts with numerals at the following co-ordinates. If they are two digit numbers, take the last digit; i.e. use '8' if the number is '18'. Substitute the numbers into N47 04.ABC W114 24.DEF to get the actual co-ordinates for the cache.

Area was logged winter of 2009. Cache location survived but the area is more open now then it used to be.
Area was burned in the past few years, 2015-2016, and I have found where the cache used to be. The nice stump it was in is now a big burned out hole. No sign of a cache ever being there. So I have located a new spot, slightly different application but not much. Very similar to original cache. I have verified the location of all the post along the trail and have changed the above waypoints A-F to reflect both those new locations and the new cache location. As you walk the trail you will find post 4 and 18 have been busted off and are probably not in their correct locations. That being said they are also not part of this puzzle solution. I also found two post 10's and two post 15's so if you find one 10 or one 15, they may not be the right post so check your coordinates well so you do not get lead astray. I also did not find a post 11. As of this date - 4-29-2018 there is not a cache placed yet. I will get that done either this week or next weekend. So if you want to try to solve the cache location you can but there is nothing to find yet.
