If you grew up in the 70's, as I did, you probably remember the Donny and Marie Show. I was madly in love with Donny, (we both loved purple and had the same birthdate so it was meant to be!) so I made sure to watch the show every week. There was a segment where Donny would sing some rock songs and Marie would sing some country songs. They sang the segment song "She's a Little Bit Country, He's a Little Bit Rock and Roll." every week.
As a child of the 70's, I loved rock and roll. We had the best bands back then.....Aerosmith, Kansas, REO. I went to Rock Fest in Cadott for years, until I no longer knew who the bands were. I still know every word to so many great songs.
And then, when I hit 50, something changed. I started listening to a country station just for something different. Suddenly, I was singing along with Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and so many more. I think my husband thought I was having a mid-life crisis. But I found I really enjoyed country music! Who would have guessed. (FYI: My husband will let me listen to country in the car now and then, but he thinks every song is about a truck!)
So it seems, I will forever be a Little Bit Country.
