When you're here you should be able to see the eagles' nest in the dead tree to the south. The "local" pair of eagles have resided here since 2014. In 2022 the tree they had their nest in fell over. In 2023 they rebuilt a new nest. These birds are fondly called Tebo and Sobo. Tebo was the first settler who built a cabin in the area. It was about where the Subway is located along Shirland Avenue. Sobo, the God of Thunder, is the mascot for South Beloit High School. If you're lucky you might get to see them while you are here. If you see them.... enjoy!
