마라도 설명

마라도는 한국의 시작점이자 끝점으로 한국에 알려져 있습니다. 흥미로운 관광 명소가 있는 조용한 작은 섬입니다. 한국 최남단을 기리는 기념물, 잠수부의 안전을 기원하는 성당, 독특한 자장면이 있습니다. 마라도 도보여행은 약 1시간 정도 소요됩니다. 땅이 평평하고 포장되어 있어서 걷기에 좋습니다. 마라도는 조용하지만, 제주도 앞바다에서는 바람이 꽤 많이 불 수 있습니다.

마라도 지질

최근까지 마라도가 얼마나 오래 전에 형성되었는지 확인하는 것은 어려웠습니다. 과학자들이 이용할 수 있는 기술이 150,000~260,000년 전의 엄청난 추정 창을 제공했기 때문입니다. 과학자들은 이러한 결론에 도달하기 위해 마라도를 형성하는 현무암의 연대를 측정하는 방법을 사용했습니다.

그러나 최근 특정 종류의 암석의 연대를 알아내는 새로운 기술이 개발되었는데, 마라도 현무암이 이 새로운 기술에 적합했습니다. 이 새로운 기술을 우라늄-토륨-헬륨 연대 측정 또는 (U-Th)/He 연대 측정이라고 합니다. 현무암 자체를 분석하는 대신 현무암 속에 있는 규암 결정에서 지르콘을 분리해 결정의 연대를 알아냅니다.

마라도에는 독특하고 희귀한 현무암도 있습니다. 마라도 현무암의 대부분은 꽃돌(국화돌 또는 눈송이돌이라고도 함)이라고 불리는 일종의 현무암입니다. 마라도의 현무암은 중앙에 검은 휘석 결정이 뚜렷한 꽃 모양으로 자라는 작은 흰색 장석 결정을 가지고 있습니다. 이러한 유형의 결정은 세계의 몇몇 장소에서만 자라며 화산 폭발 직후에 형성되는 것으로 생각됩니다.

Marado Introduction

Marado is known in Korea as the starting point and the ending point of Korea. It's a quiet little island with some interesting tourist attractions. It hosts a monument that is dedicated to the southernmost point of Korea, a cathedral that prays for the safety of divers, and some unique jajangmyun. It only takes about an hour to walk the loop around the island. The ground is flat and paved and easy to walk around. It is quiet on Marado, but it can also get quite windy this far off the coast of Jeju Island.

Marado Geology

It was difficult until recently to determine the age of Marado and when it was formed. This was because the techniques available to scientists provided a huge estimate window from 150,000-260,000 years ago. They used a method of trying to date the basalt that forms Marado to come to this conclusion.

However a new technique was recently developed to find the age of certain kinds of rocks and the Marado basalt was an excellent candidate for this new technique. This new technique is called Uranium-thorium-helium dating or (U-Th)/He dating. Instead of anylazing the basalt itself, zircon is separated from quartzite crystals in the basalt and the age of the crystals is determined.

Marado also has some uniquely rare basalt. Much of the basalt on Marado is a type of basalt called flowerstone (also Chrysanthemum Stone or Snowflake Stone). The basalt on Marado has small white feldspar crystals with a black pyroxene crystals at the center that grow in a distinctly flower shape. These type of crystals only grow in a few places in the world and are thought to form shortly after volcanic eruption.
