Geocache Description:

Located off Interstate 80 (Emlenton Exit)- Mineral Springs Park, just East of Emlenton. In the winter gate is locked so you will need to park and walk to the cache (Park @ N41 10.753 W79 41.949). In the summer the gate locks at dusk.

Located in the heart of the Pennsylvania Oil industry, Emlenton PA was the home to the first Quaker State Oil Refinery. This cache is located in Emlenton's Mineral Springs Park near one of the first and oldest oil wells in the area. When you drive (or walk) back the road to the picnic area (to the cache) you will see the well on your right. You will also see the mineral spring that gives the park its name. In the summer (or winter) take a break from your trip on Route 80, grab a sandwich at the truckstop; eat a picnic lunch in beautiful Mineral Springs; and find this cache. Afterwards take the walking tour of Emlenton (brochures are in the cache). The cache contains a traveling dollar bill (where's George), a bear from another cache, a Fernando Ortega CD, Foxburg CC divot tool, Sheffield survival knife, light stick, Quaker State golfball and other novelties of cache...enjoy

UPDATE! 5/4/04 The road which was blocked by a storm last year has been cleared. You can now drive back into mineral springs again...The State Grant thing really works!!!
