Trail head
Yoda’s first adventure is in reference to my old dog Yoda. He was the best dog ever. This trail is the first place we stopped to walk him on our way home from the pet store. He was the sweetest black and tan, long haired dachshund ever. I wanted to honor his life by putting a cache here.
This area is filled with Ponderosa Pine. Kaibab is one of the largest forest of Ponderosa Pine in the world. The word Kaibab comes from the “Paiute Indian” word meaning “mountain lying down”. This nature trail includes 11 informative signs along the trail with questions and answers about the forest. Although some are pretty weathered they are filled with interesting information. The loop is about 1/4 mile round trip and should only take about 15 minutes. If rest area is closed it is also assessable from Brannigan rd.
The cache is relatively easy and is not on the trail. Please replace exactly where found. Not many muggles around so you should be able to enjoy the natural sights and sounds. Not much room for any loot and please bring a pencil or a pen. Take a picture of yourself or what you liked most about your visit.
