Miesto, kde sa kostol nachádza:
Tento drevený artikulárny kostol sa nachádza v Leštinách poblíž okresného mesta Dolný Kubín,
neďaleko od hlavnej cesty I/59. Kostol sa nachádza v Leštinách na južnej malej vyvýšenine v obývanej oblasti dediny Leštiny.
Poblíž dediny Leštiny sa samozrejme nachádza aj niekoľko iných zaujímavých miest. Váš výlet môže
spestriť turistika na Choč, ktorý sa týči takmer nad dedinou, môžete okúsiť prechádzku na Bačov stolec povýše dediny Osádka, čakajú Vás tam
pekné výhľady.
Kostol a jeho história:
Kostol bol postavený v rokoch 1688 - 1689. Príkaz na výstavbu kostola vydal Jób Zmeškal,
ktorý bol aj kapitánom hradnej stráže na Oravskom hrade.
Kostol bol na začiatku bez veže a aj bez zvonov. V druhej polovici 18. storočia sa uskutočnila rekonštrukcia kostola, konkrétne
sa jednalo o rekonštrukciu interiéru. Rustikálna fasáda sa zrušila a nahradilo ju doskové debnenie. Na exteriér sa tiež nezabudlo - bola
dostavaná zvonica, ktorú dobudovali veriaci a prepojili ju s kostolom krytým schodiskom. Vo zvonici sa momentálne nachádzajú dva zvony - jeden z roku 1764 a druhý
z roku 1964.
Ľudia použili na stavbu kostola smrekové drevo. Drevo prevdepodobne použili z okolitých vyššie položených lesov.
V kostole môžete vidieť barokový oltár s drevorezbou zo 14. storočia a zábradlie z roku 1821, na ktorom
sú namaľované žlto - biele kvety na modrom základe. Zaujímavá je aj bohato zdobená kazateľnica z 18. storočia.
V kostole sa nachádzajú aj patrónové lavice, kde sedávali páni.

Artikulárne kostoly dostali pomenovanie od artikúl - dohoda na šopronskom sneme v roku 1681.
V artikulách sa uvádza, že kostoly museli byť postavené:
do roka bez jediného klinca, základu a iba z dreva
na odľahlom mieste, no s výhľadom blízkym obytnému domu
bez veže a zvona
s vchodom do kostola situovaným nie priamo z ulice
UNESCO:
Tento evanjelický artikulárny kostol je dominantou obce Leštiny. Patrí medzi najkrajšie a najvzácnejšie
drevené sakrálne objekty na Slovensku. Do dnes sa zachovalo mnoho ďalších kostolov na území Slovenska.
Kostoly sú zapísané pod spoločným názvom Drevené kostoly v slovenskej časti Karpát. Aj tento drevený evanjelický
kostol je zapísaný v zozname UNESCO. Kostol je v UNESCO zapísaný od roku 2008 s ďalšími kostolmi a cerkvami (Hronsek, Tvrdošín, Ladomírová, Bodružal, Hervartov, Ruská Bystrá, Kežmarok).
Avšak niektoré drevené kostolíky a cerkvi nie sú zapísané v UNESCO.
Napríklad kostolíky a cerkvi: v Istebnom, v Ruskom Potoku, Ruskej Bystrej, Uličskom Krivom, Kalnej Roztoke, a mnoho ďalších.
Musím ale povedať, že všetky drevené kostolíky a cerkvi sú pekné, či sú alebo nie sú v UNESCO.

V kostole sa každú nedeľu vykonávajú Služby božie v historickom štýle
V tomto kostolíku bol pokrstený významný básnik Slovenska Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav v roku 1849.
Prvý záznam o krste v tomto kostolíku je údajne marec 1786
Povráva sa, že do kostola zavítal Ludwig van Beethoven, no písomná zmienka o tom nie je.
A dôvod? Beethoven sa dlhodobo priatelil s Mikulášom Zmeškalom, príbuzný Jána Zmeškala, ktorý kostol postavil
Tento drevený kostol údajne nebol pôvodne natretý tmavou farbou, pôvodne mal štandardnú svetlú farbu dreva
Keška:
Vašou úlohou pre nájdenie finálu bude treba vyriešiť ľahkú úlohu s fiktívnym príbehom.
V časoch, keď tento drevený kostolík bol novinkou medzi dedinčanmi, či mešťanmi,
každý tu chcel urobiť niečo ďalšie výnimočné, no mohli si to dovoliť iba bohatí.
A tak jeden neznámy bohatší dedinčan tu nechal poklad. Povrávalo sa, že to sú iba povery,
a že to je nepravda. No niekto to zobral vážne a začal pátrať, a v dedine našiel stratený, zrejme
čerstvý odkaz:
Dolupodpísaný ja, rodený tretieho júla roku Pána 1650, sa priznávam skrytia pokladu venovanému
tomuto chrámu. Sám ja som bol nútený vicišpánom Kubína Zmeškalom, aby som skryl tento poklad.
Za moju osobu je podstatné dati na vedomie verejnosti o tejto vzácnosti. Tento poklad som skryl na súradniciach:

The place where the church is located:
This wooden articular church is located in Leštiny near the district town of Dolný Kubín,
not far from highway I/59. The church is located in Leštiny on the southern small hill in the inhabited area of the village of Leštiny.
Of course, there are several other interesting places near the village of Leštiny. Your trip can
diversify hiking on Choč, which rises almost above the village, you can enjoy a walk to Bačov stolec above the village of Osádka, nice views are
waiting for you there.
Church and its history:
The church was built in the years 1688 - 1689. The order for the construction of the church was issued by Jób Zmeškal,
who was also the captain of the castle guard at Orava Castle.
In the beginning, the church was without a tower and without bells. In the second half of the 18th century, the church was reconstructed, specifically
it was an interior renovation. The rustic facade was removed and replaced by board formwork. The exterior was also not forgotten - it was
completed bell tower, which was completed by the faithful and connected to the church by a covered staircase. There are currently two bells in the bell tower - one from 1764 and the other
from 1964.
People used spruce wood to build the church. They probably used the wood from the surrounding higher-lying forests.
In the church, you can see a baroque altar with wood carving from the 14th century and a railing from 1821, on which
they are painted yellow - white flowers on a blue base. The richly decorated pulpit from the 18th century is also interesting.
There are also patron benches in the church, where gentlemen used to sit.

within a year without a single nail, basis and only made of wood
in a remote location, but with a view close to the residential building

This evangelical articular church is a landmark of the village of Leštiny. It is among the most beautiful and rare
wooden religious buildings in Slovakia. Many other churches in Slovakia have been preserved to this day.
The churches are registered under the common name Wooden churches in the Slovak part of the Carpathians. Also this wooden evangelical church
is included in the UNESCO list. The church has been registered in UNESCO since 2008 with other churches (Hronsek, Tvrdošín, Ladomírová, Bodružal, Hervartov, Ruská Bystrá, Kežmarok).
However, some wooden churches are not registered in UNESCO.
For example, churches: in Istebné, Ruský Potok, Ruská Bystrá, Uličské Krivé, Kalná Roztoka, and many others.

An famous poet of Slovakia Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav was baptized in this church in 1849.
The first record of a baptism in this church is said to be March 1786
It is rumored that Ludwig van Beethoven visited the church, but there is no written mention of this.
And the reason? Beethoven was a long-term friend of Mikuláš Zmeškal, a relative of Ján Zmeškal, who built the church
This wooden church was allegedly not originally painted dark, it originally had a tent bright light wood color

everyone here wanted to do something extra special, but only the rich could afford it.
And so an unknown richer villager left a treasure here. Rumor has it that they are just superstitions,
and that this is untrue. Well, someone took it seriously and started searching, and found the lost one in the village, apparently
fresh paper:
I, the undersigned, born on the third of July in the year of the Lord 1650, confess to hiding the treasure dedicated to
this church. I myself was forced by the vice-master of Kubín Zmeškal to hide this treasure.
It is important for me to inform the public about this rarity. I hid this treasure at the coordinates:
