Geocache Description:


Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, originally part of Cortlandt Manor, holds a rich history dating back to its settlement by Connecticut farmers. Named after the indigenous pound used to store game, it was renamed "Ward Pound Ridge" in 1938 to honor William Lukens Ward. The park offers diverse ecosystems, historic structures, and extensive trail networks. Home to varied landscapes, including meadows, wetlands, and lush woodlands, it is a haven for nature enthusiasts.

In order to find this cache, you must visit both of the covered bridges along the Cross River and obtain information from each site. The final is located at: N 41 AB.CDE W 073 FG.HIJ.

At Covered Bridge #1:

  • AC: The number of wooden floorboards on the covered bridge.
  • F: The number of screws that hold each floorboard, divided by 3.
  • G: The number of vertical balusters between each of the supports that hold up the roof divided by 2.
  • J: Subtract 1 from your answer for G.

At Covered Bridge #2:

  • DH: The number of vertical balusters between each of the supports that hold up the roof.
  • E: The number of letters in the name of the person that the bridge is named after (...'s, don't count the " 's ").
  • B: The number of vertical balusters between each of the supports that hold up the roof divided by 2.
  • I: The second digit in the number of floorboards on the covered bridge, divided by 2.
