Geocache Description:

The Tsutsujigasaki-Yakata was built in Kofu, home of the Takeda clan, the provincial governor of Kai, and was the location of the guard house. Today, the site is occupied by Takeda Shrine.
It was the headquarters of the Takeda clan of the Kai Minamoto clan during the Warring States period, and the residence, vassal residences, and castle town are all located here. It functioned as a fuchu for over 60 years during the reigns of Nobutora, Harunobu (Shingen), and Katsuyori, and later became the prototype for Kofu as a broad castle town and for Kofu City in the modern era.
The main gate at that time was located on the east side of the pavilion, which was protected by a strong tiger gate and horse stalls. The remains of earthen mounds and other structures can still be seen today.
The cache is located near Ruin of the Main Gate.
