N'eût été du travail accompli par des citoyens croyant fermement au projet, le troisième pont couvert du parc fluvial de la rivière Blanche n'aurait pas été construit. C'est donc en leur honneur que la structure, qui a été officiellement inaugurée, porte le nom de Pont des Bénévoles.

Had it not been for the work done by citizens who firmly believed in the project, the third covered bridge in the White River River Park would not have been built. It is therefore in their honor that the structure, which was officially inaugurated, is named Pont des Bénévoles.
