This cache is located near Tennis Avenue Park Playground beside Enoggera Creek. There is an open field and a small playground. More play equipment is located further along the bikeway in Balun Park on the other side of the creek. Enoggera Creek marks the border between Ashgrove and Newmarket.
Ashgrove's native name is 'Kallindarbin' and was originally inhabited by the indigenous 'Turrbal' or 'Duke of York clan'. The main thoroughfare, Waterworks Road, was built on a Turrbal pathway that led to Mount Coot-tha, a place of the 'Honey-Bee Dreaming' and to the Enoggera Reservoir.
Just downstream from here Enoggera Creek is joined by Ithaca Creek. According to Queensland State Library, Ithaca Creek was named after the birthplace of Lady Diamantina Roma Bowen, wife of Sir George Ferguson Bowen, British colonial administrator, the 1st Governor of Queensland (in office 1859 - 1868).
