Located between Wilmington and Lake Placid, the Old Notch House museum is a beautiful place to pull over and sightsee...also very close to this cache location. To end the relationship of my boyfriend and I with a bang, we have planted a cache on our trip to Lake Placid. Appropriately named after him, this cache is located approximately 150 feet off of the trail closer to the calmer end of the water. It is about 5 minutes from your car to the cache and it is a large circular plastic container with a twist on lock lid. The lid can be a bit sticky but gently and firmly twisting the handles to the right will unlock it. It is slightly off of the ground, please make sure that the cache is locked completely and placed back where it was originally found to ensure its longevity. The coordinates for parking are (44.3105863, -73.9156227) and there are many spaces available. The area is very dog friendly and an excellent place to dip your toes (other dawgs) in the water. We have put many fun and thoughtful trinkets inside, all on the medium side and all of good quality, please try to maintain this standard as this is our first cache and we are very excited. Inside of the log book is a small about the authors section so you can get to know the master minds behind this silly creation . Pictures, stories, names, and art are all welcome in the log.
