This cache is part of the WERDAVE 80 for 80 series celebrating WERDAVE's birthday and his extensive contributions to cache hiding, especially on the trails and in the parks around the Santa Clara Valley.
WD80 #31-#35: Welcome to Russian Ridge OSP! These entries into the WD80 series will not require treacherous 16-milers deep in the woods, instead, enjoy a quick pleasant hike into the grassy hills just off Skyline. Be mindful of the park hours, Russian Ridge is open a half-hour before sunrise until a half-hour after sunset.
WD80 #33: I love searching WERDAVE's hides for keywords like "Dendroalsia moss" or "oak" and appreciating how many of his hides mention the same objects, yet Dave manages to keep it interesting every time! For this title, I borrowed his "Lichen Rocks" titles (if we're calling it that) from caches like GCA4F06 over in Grant, and gave Russian Ridge its own Lichen Rocks "series" entry. This cache could take a few minutes with all the rocky possibilities, but it's a Talenti jar, so don't be digging around thinking you're looking for a bison (we've all done it!).
