Originally named the Dryden Lake Trail, the name was changed to the Jim Shugg Trail in honor of the highway supervisor who advocated for it's creation.
Activities enjoyed on the trail include biking, hiking, running, horseback riding, cross country skiing and snow shoeing. And most important, geocaching.
Along the path you will pass swamps, wetlands, and ponds, as well as Dryden Lake Park. Benches are placed every 1/2 mile along the path, some with informational placards describing the environment. With luck you will see turtles, fish, many types of birds and on occassion even a deer.
